Lift up your flags high
Vociferate and bellow
“I am a man,
Without cause I am not,
This war I will win
For this is my sole duty."
Run about
Aim high and projectile
No men are here
Just mine and thy rifle
These are not men
Enemies at most
Blank papers lacking text
So we aim fire and boast
This is our war and land.
We are taught and told
That even if we've grown old
Serve now for later rest.
Serve thy Father Land is my test.
So is dissonance our siren?
Just atrophy any heart
'Till we desensitize what else is left.
But to schism to the opponent's fields
No longer juxtaposed or considered of munich.
But our blood before us could as well fuse
Take hiatus from mortiferous battle
And find solace in muse.
This is actually an assignment given to me by my history teacher. He knows I do poetry and instead of doing the usual one page assignment like the rest of the majority, he told me to do a poem about World War I and about the movie "War on the Western Front" So enjoy and I'll be thankful for any feedback, whether constructive or uplifting, so ciao for now:wave:
